One Day of Powerful Talks

F.U.E.L 2017

01 April 2017
10:00 AM - 04:30 PM

The University of Maryland's Asian American Student Union invites you to our 17th annual FUEL Leadership Conference. FUEL is an acronym for Forging, Understanding, Empowering, and Leading. This critical day aims to educate and develop leadership among the Asian American Pacific Islander community. We are proud to announce this year's theme: FUEL the Unity.

Fuel The Unity is a conversation about fighting for liberation; coming together to discuss personal and political experiences. FUEL will offer inspiring lessons in empowerment and community building for current and future generations by highlighting the critical role we play in mending these racial/ethnic borders, and reinforcing our steadfast resolve to create a more equitable, humane world.

This year's conference will feature discussions led by nationally renowned academic directors, highly acclaimed professors, local community organizers, and inspiring student activists. This year in particular we're going to be delving into topics such as civic engagement, voting, mental health, family relationships, media representation, and student advocacy.

Not to mention, there will also be FOOD, GIVEAWAYS, and PERFORMANCES! Stay tuned for sneak peak information.

ALL ARE WELCOME! Though we're discussing Asian American issues, these topics span across community lines. Let's join together to better understand each other and make better allies.
